Same Song, Second Verse
August 11th, 2008 | by Karla |It seems that John Edwards has been singing the same song as Bill Clinton did back in the 90’s. However, it looks like John didn’t learn anything from his fellow Democratic politian Bill Clinton. Remember Clinton’s famous words? “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. If the–if he–if ‘is’ means is and never has been, that is not–that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement….Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true.” Just define “it” and Bill would let us dense Americans know that in his mind, he wasn’t having an affair. John Edwards must have thought if he sang the same song, we’d fall for it hook, line and sinker. John Edwards denials, then admissions and more denials during the admissions, will ultimatley get him into deeper trouble. Don’t you think he would learn from others mistakes?
And what about the women in their lives? Do you think Hillary was savvy to Bill’s trysts? Elizabeth? As she was thinking about her life and the very real possibility that her days were numbered, do you think she really believed that John only had a liaison in 2006 and that was it?
Don’t think I am so naive that I don’t think the average family man…or woman for that matter…isn’t also into denials and lies of all kinds. But, this isn’t about us…it’s about THEM!
I’m sick of this song. Politians singing the blues because they got caught in their web of lies and indiscretions. I have a sneaky suspicion that John will be singing a few more verses in the coming days. What do you think?

I think I would love for Rick and Bubba to really run for President. OR at the very least, Colin Powell or Condeleeza Rice. The parties are so tainted with selfish and indulgent behavior, it sickens me. John Edwards would have been better just admitting his mistake and asking forgiveness instead of lying about it and coming clean now. Is there no man or woman in politics that is honest, full of integrity, competent, and has self-control? Please come forward!!! We will support you!
