It’s Mother’s Day: Do you Know where your husband is?
May 11th, 2008 | by Tammie |Mine is in Fresno, CA! My husband has been traveling for his company for the last 3 1/2 years. The first time he had to fly out on Mother’s Day or Easter I was totally insulted. The next time I thought “well wow here we go again.” But when I found out he would be flying out at 6:55 this morning on Mother’s Day, I just laughed! Him being gone on Mother’s Day has kinda become a tradition.
We were up this morning at 5:00, after being up off and on all night watching the storms rolling through our area, and heading to the airport. Everyone feels really sorry for you when you are by yourself on Mother’s Day. But I felt more sorry for my husband. He was the one traveling across the country!
My kids and I went to church, grabbed a quick bite and spent the rest of the day outside! It was a beautiful day. So I had a low key Mother’s Day. It wasn’t so bad. I think sometimes we have all these big expectations for what I call made up holidays like Valentines and Mother’s Day. I took a nap on my deck, read a little and enjoyed watching my kids jump on their new trampoline!
I wonder where he will be next year!

Yes - it was a great day. Me, my son, my daughter, my Dad’s sister and my brother all at Mom and Dads house. My brother grilled burgers for us.
(Sometime I’ll tell y’all some more funny things about the breakup of my marriage.)
